Easter Eve confirmations in Southwell Minster
Adults and young people from across the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham were confirmed into the Church of England at a special Easter Eve service in the Minster, on Saturday 15th April.
Thirty three people of all ages, including several members of the same family, were confirmed by the Bishop of Sherwood, the Rt Revd Tony Porter.
Precentor of the Cathedral, the Revd Canon Jacqui Jones, welcomed the candidates to the ceremony at the holiest time of year as they made a significant step of faith.
Bishop Tony said: “At a wonderful service in the Minster on Easter Eve a wide variety of people, of all ages and backgrounds, publicly committed their lives to follow Jesus Christ.”
