Halloween…or not?

Many of us have concerns about Halloween, both in spiritual terms and the unpleasantness and commercialisation of the season. Here are a few things you could do:

  1. Speak or write to the manager of your local Supermarket, expressing your concern at the unpleasant and scary items they are selling alongside groceries.
  2. Gently discourage your local schools, Brownies, Cubs, and so on from holding Halloween events.
  3. Work as a church or group of churches to put on an alternative event such as a ‘Light Party’.

Nick’s book ‘Better than Halloween’ ISBN-13: 9780715141014, published by Church House Publishing, is full of ideas and suggestions to make the season fun, bright and positive. It comes with a CD Rom of ideas,. images, posters and decorations.
