Growing Deeper with Mentoring

It takes a whole church to disciple a young person, not just a youth leader!

If you would like more information on how to equip a group of mentors to support young people in their faith journey in your church contact Angela youthadviser@southwell.anglican.org to come and lead sessions to support your team.

Young People’s Mental Well-Being

Would you like advice on how to deal with young people experiencing anxiety?

We have a range of sessions available to help you understand what might be the causes of anxiety, what is self-harm, useful resources for young people to use, and signposting to other agencies for young people and their families. Contact Angela youthadviser@southwell.anglican.org and sign up for updates on future sessions.

The Equip Youth Work Training Course

Award & Certificate – Accredited by NOCN – Level 2 and Level 3 – Youth Work Practice

Developed for everyone who works with young people in a church context; full-time, part-time or spare-time. The Certificate is endorsed by the National Youth Agency for Youth Support Worker status. It can be completed by youth workers of any age from 18+.
Award units cover theory of youth work, safeguarding, young people’s development and communicating and engaging with young people. Certificate units cover group work, challenging behaviour, faith and community values and reflective practice. In addition learners must plan, deliver and evaluate a 6 session programme with young people. The next local course is at St Johns School of Mission in Bramcote, Nottingham.
It will run on the second Saturday of each month from 10am until 3.30pm
It will cost around £700, but we may be able to help with costs if the worker is working with a Church in the Diocese.
