Resources have been provided to help churches mark Fostering Sunday on 13th May.
A short video has been produced to support a campaign launched across Nottingham to encourage Christians to answer the call for foster carers – with the target of finding 100 new foster homes in the city in the next three years.
The video, which features two foster carers talking about the joys and challenges of fostering, can be viewed below: it is hoped it will be widely used on 13th May.
Example Sermon Notes
This sermon, “Who will you say yes to?” by Krish Kandiah, is based on the parable of the Good Samaritan. It brings a challenge to be radical in our hospitality to children in care.
Ideas for Children’s Work
These notes will help you engage children with the theme of fostering using the story of the Good Samaritan.
Youth Work Session
A youth work session using Bible notes, multimedia and example questions to engage young people in the issues surrounding fostering.
Interviewing someone who is either already involved in fostering, or someone who has experience of being in care, is a great way to explore the topic as a church family. Here are some example questions which you might use.
