Miners remembered in stained glass at Harworth Church

All Saints Church at Harworth celebrated the dedication of a new memorial window – in memory of miners who had died at the mine since 1921 – by the Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham on Sunday  28th January.

Pictured next to Bishop Paul are : seated Graeme Willson (artist), Ann Wilson (church warden), and on the back row ex-miner Gerald Holian – who inspired and raised funds for the window – and Les Batty (church warden).

Ann said: “It was an amazing emotional day. What a wonderful legacy for our mining community.”
