Equality & Diversity
From one human being he created all races of people and made them live throughout the whole earth. He himself fixed beforehand the exact times and limits of the places where they live. Amos 5:24 Faith in Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a free person, a man or a woman. Galatians 3:28 (CEV)
Arising from a review conducted by the Committee for Minority Ethnic Anglican Concerns (CMEAC), in 2007 we created the role of Diocesan Diversity Coordinator to address issues of equality and diversity within the Diocese. We are working towards making our diocese, with all it comprises a place of where all are welcome and find equal opportunities.
The Diversity Coordinator seeks develop good practice and training especially around race and disability. We are also participating in the Anglican Communion’s Listening Process around issues of human sexuality. We look for ways to encourage the participation in church life of Anglicans from ethnic minorities.

14th June 2016
and was held at Christ Church, Newark, NG24 4AJ
Britain’s 300,000 Gypsies, Roma and Travellers have lived, worked and travelled though out Britain for over 500 years, yet have been almost entirely written out of British history. As part of Gypsy Roma Traveller Month, we held a day conference to raise awareness of Gypsy Roma Traveller culture, history and lifestyle; their valuable contribution to our society and to try to offset some of the negative stereotyping and prejudices that surround these communities.
