Joining members of the Youth Trust team on the day will be Samantha Dennis, Deputy Director of Education for the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham and Bishop Tony Porter, Bishop of Sherwood who will deliver the keynote speech. Delegates will also hear from Kathryn King, Executive Headteacher, and pupils from Norwell and St Matthew’s C of E Primary Schools who will be presenting their work.
Bishop Tony Porter said; “I am thrilled to support the Archbishop of York’s Young Leaders Award at the Conference for Head Teachers. Rozy Brian, Strategic Lead for Primary Awards, said; “We are delighted to be sharing the Young Leaders Award with schools in the wider Nottingham area. We look forward to sharing how taking part in the Award can empower pupils to develop in character and leadership and to make a difference in their communities.”
To date the Youth Trust have enrolled over 550 Primary and Secondary schools to the Young Leaders Awards, empowering some 63,000 young people to put leadership into action and make a difference in other people’s lives through acts of service and community volunteering.
