A warm welcome awaits at restored St Helena’s
A joyful call to worship and a warm welcome at St Helena’s church in South Scarle is now complete, with the building of a ringing floor in the bell tower and a beautiful outer door to the South porch.
During a celebration lunch for the village the Rt. Revd. Tony Porter, Bishop of Sherwood, dedicated the new work on Saturday 2nd February.
St Helena’s is a vibrant centre for Christian worship and community events, and has recently undergone the extensive and imaginative re-ordering project.
The Rev’d Mandy Cartwright says: “I’m pleased and proud to be Rector of the East Trent Group and I’m delighted that in South Scarle we’re able to celebrate the completion of the re-ordering project with a beautiful, welcoming South Porch door and an outstanding new ringing floor in the bell tower. Grateful thanks to Bishop Tony for the dedication.”
