There are two Archdeacons for the Diocese: the Archdeacon of Newark generally covering the north of the Diocese and the Archdeacon of Nottingham for the city and south. Their role is as regional leaders and managers in mission for the Bishop. They are particularly concerned in clergy appointments, deployment and pastoral support.

The Archdeacon of Newark is currently in vacancy; the Revd Canon Mark Adams is the Interim Assistant Archdeacon
