Christian Aid rallying cry for climate protest
Christian Aid is encouraging people to join its climate protest in London on Wednesday 17th June.
The charity says it is time to “tell the newly elected Government to do the right thing, stand up to vested interests and make climate change its number one priority”.
Join thousands of people in prayer and worship at the start of the day of action. Ecumenical services will take place at St Margaret’s Church, Parliament Square, and Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street. Bishop Nick Holtam will speak at both services.
The services will run from noon to 1pm, followed by a mass lobby in the streets around Parliament when people will be able to tell their MPs about the things they love and demand that the Government acts to tackle climate change.
At 4.30pm it will be time for the Speak Up Finale – a rally outside Parliament featuring inspiring guest speakers.
