Confirmations at St Giles

St Giles, Balderton was the host church for Newark & Southwell Deanery’s Confirmation Service on Sunday 4th November at 6pm.

The Rev’d Mark Adams said: “Last Sunday we had a very moving Confirmation Service at St Giles’ Balderton. There were twelve candidates for Confirmation and one being received into the Communion of the Church of England from four different parishes. This included five young people, which was especially encouraging. Several of the candidates spoke about why they were taking this step of faith and the difference that becoming a disciple of Jesus had made in their lives. The service was conducted by Bishop Nigel Peyton, the former Archdeacon of Newark and it was a privilege to welcome him and his wife Anne back to the Deanery and to the parish where they worshipped regularly.”
