Could you foster a child?

There is a growing need for more foster parents in Nottingham – more than 600 children are in council care – so the Diocese has teamed up with Nottingham City Council to encourage more Christians to become foster carers.

As part of this, an information evening is being held at St Nic’s, Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, on May 16th (7.30pm) for anyone who thinks they could welcome a child into their home at a really difficult time in the child’s life. It will be an opportunity to explore what it really means to foster – both for the child and the carer – and how fostering can be part of Christian service.

Bishop Paul Williams will be at the event, along with Councillor David Mellen, Portfolio Holder for Early Intervention and Early Years, and foster carers who will share their real-life experiences of fostering.
