Eleven new Licenced Lay Ministers,
On Sunday at Southwell Minster we celebrated the licensing of eleven new Licenced Lay Ministers, also known as LLM’s or lay ministers. To celebrate this occasion, we are delighted to share some of the photos taken during the day.
These services were the first of their kind because this year’s cohort are the first group to have completed their training as part of the diocese’s new LLM scheme, following the previous Reader training programme. This year’s LLM’s were licensed by the Bishop of Souhtwell & Nottingham to a specific benefice and will work together with his or her incumbent, supporting the diocesan vision for Growing Disciples: Wider, Younger, Deeper.
Speaking about the service James Halstead, Principal of the School of Discipleship said, “These services were such precious occasions. With some of the candidates having spent up to 4 years preparing for this moment, it was a real joy to license and send them out to their ministries far and wide across the diocese!”
Congratulations and blessings to all of our new Lay Ministers.
