Filling the gap: St Christopher’s half term food club

A church in Nottingham is stepping in to give school children food and arrange activities for them during the half term holiday.

Free breakfasts, and a packed lunch – along with fun, creative activities – are being provided from 9.30-11.30 am by St Christopher’s Church in Sneinton.

The ‘Holiday Food Club’ (see ) is being held on four mornings during the week in the Church Hall on Trent Road, NG2 4FH.

The Rev’d Naomi Hill explains: “The food club is aimed at those who are missing out on school meals. In Sneinton, as in so many areas of the city, our schools provide essential support to families not only in terms of education but also with good food and social connections. In the holidays families can feel the absence of that support, so as Christians who want to put their Christian faith into action St Christopher’s Sneinton and Youth With A Mission Nottingham are working together to provide breakfast, a packed lunch and some fun activities to fill that gap over the February half term.”
