International Human Rights campaigner to speak in Southwell
A 26 year-old international development worker, who lived for three months in occupied Palestinian Territory on the West Bank, will be the guest speaker at a meeting organised by the Holy Lands Group in Jubilee House, the new diocesan offices on Westgate, Southwell on 26 Sept.
Sarah Rowe from Chester works in the Youth Team of an International Development Charity in London. She was in the Holy Land to monitor human rights and offer a protective presence to those experiencing difficult situations. Now back in England, she shares her experiences to advocate for a just peace for all those living in Israel and the Palestinian territories.
David Lane, Holy Lands Partnership Officer for the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham said:
“Sarah will bring first-hand experience of what Palestinians have to endure day by day, having to obtain permits and crossing through check points into Israel to go to school, hospital or work.”
The meeting will begin at 7.30pm. For more information about the talk or Holy Lands Group email David Lane : firstname.lastname@example.org
