HR Manager (35 hours per week)

£39,190 per annum + plus a contribution of 10% of salary into a personal pension plan

The Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham is seeking to appoint a full time HR Manager to proactively lead a comprehensive human resources (HR) service to the Southwell & Nottingham Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) and the wider Diocese in respect of its ecclesiastical office holders.  The HR Manager will be supported by a HR Officer who is also the Executive PA to the CE and Archdeacons.

Based in Southwell, the successful candidate will provide up to date advice to the senior team in support of our clergy and employees and, as required, to equip and enable parishes to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and leading practice.

This is an opportunity for a suitably experienced HR professional to use their skills to work alongside the Chief Executive in the delivery of strategic objectives and workforce planning in a complex environment. 

The nature of the post will require a degree of mobility and flexibility, with work undertaken in locations around the Diocese and some meetings or training events taking place during evenings and weekends, for which time off in lieu would need to be taken.

Executive Personal Assistant to the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham

(full time: 35 hours per week)

Salary Guide £25,081- £26,760 (with flexibility to increase depending on previous experience) 

This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with strong interpersonal skills, a flair for communication across different media, and proven administrative competence.  The Bishop’s Executive PA will give vital personal support to the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, with the ability to work with fluctuating diary priorities, volume, complexity and at pace, with a ‘right first time’ attitude.  The Executive PA will also ensure a warm and generous welcome is extended to all who come to visit the Bishop.  They will thrive working alongside the Bishop’s Chaplain and Office Administrator, with flexibility, natural generosity and a strong sympathy with the Christian faith.

Finance Officer – Payments (35 hours per week: £24,150)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a finance professional to work in the Finance team at the Diocesan Offices in Southwell.  The successful candidate will have responsibility for all payments including purchase ledger, expenses, payroll, council tax and water rates and will be able to reconcile to trial balance.  Previous experience and attention to detail essential.
