Seed Scattering and laughter

Bishop Tony Porter and his wife, Lucille spent time on Saturday ‘Clowning Around’ in St Paulinus’ Church in Ollerton- which formed part of their Seed Scattering activities in the Parish of Ollerton with Boughton.

Also on Saturday, Bishop Tony walked round the Boughton Estate, the most deprived part of the parish, and stopped for coffee and a chat with some of the residents.

A school dinner on Friday with Year 3 + Year 4 at Forest View School, was followed by a visit to the Maun Infant school  – and a 20 minute assembly on the theme of  ‘going for goals’ which Bishop Tony linked with a talk on achievement .

Afterwards the party went to Ollerton Primary School for a Q & A session, and finished the day with dinner at the home of their hosts, Kathleen & George Trimble, and a pub quiz at Ollerton House, when Bishop Tony gave his testimony.

Sunday’s Family Service was ‘celebrating commitment’ with renewal of baptism promises and wedding vows, and the blessing of two new wedding rings followed by a light lunch in the hall afterwards.
