£39,742 – £42,794 per annum, pro rata / part time (21 hours / 3 days per week) / fixed term contract 2 years / 10% pension contribution / (funded from the Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) restricted reserves)

The Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham is seeking to appoint a part time Church School Sustainability Lead to:

Help fulfil the Diocesan Vision to Grow Disciples of Christ with Compassion, Confidence and Courage.

Lead in the delivery of the Diocesan Board of Education Small Schools Strategy (July 2024).

Support each vulnerable and/or small diocesan church school to:

Ensure that it has a sustainable, flourishing future.

Establish and maximise strong local partnerships and networks.

Evaluate its position regarding academisation.

Based in Southwell, this role will include serving the Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) and working as part of the Diocesan Education Team. The successful candidate will need a deep insight into the workings and needs of a vulnerable and/or small diocesan church school and a deep commitment to the Christian faith.

About You:

You will bring a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing small and vulnerable church schools.

You will be a skilled communicator and relationship-builder, able to work collaboratively with school leaders, governors, and wider stakeholders.

You will have a strong personal commitment to the Christian faith.

You will fully support the Diocesan Vision of ‘Living Hope’ and the Church of England Vision for Education.
