The School of Worship is a yearly programme run as a partnership between the diocese and Trinity Church Nottingham. Join us for six Saturdays across the year to grow in your capacity to lead inspiring, Spirit-led worship in your church.
How Can I Get Involved?
The School of Worship is open to anyone who attends a church in our diocese who has a passion for leading worship in their community. It is perfect for everyone who wants to grow in their calling to lead their church in contemporary sung worship.
Applications open at the end of September for each new cohort, who will stay together for all six sessions over 12 months. Look out for news articles and follow us on Instagram for the latest information on next year’s application window.
What does it look like?
Our vision for this programme is that every participant finishes the year walking closer to Jesus than when they started. We do this by learning (and re-learning!) what it means to be a disciple, growing in faith through patterns of worship, teaching, reflection, prayer, service and community. FAQs
The programme is spread across six Saturdays over a ten-month period, running from January to October. Each session takes place from 9:30am to 3:00pm, giving us plenty of time to explore Spirit-led worship in depth while remaining manageable alongside your personal, professional, and church commitments.
The sessions will be held at Trinity Church Nottingham.
It costs £150 for the year, which is to cover the costs of using Trinity Church Nottingham and their resources to host the sessions. It also covers inviting guests to come and join us!
No, you don’t need permission from your church to attend. However, it’s always a good idea to be open and transparent with your church leader about what you’re involved in.
If you are already serving as a worship leader in your church, we’re confident this is something they would encourage and support. Many churches have leadership development budgets to invest in their leaders, so it may be worth asking whether they would be willing to contribute towards the course as an investment in you and your ministry.
