This year at St Wilfrid’s Kids Church, the children explored the four key events leading up to and including Easter Sunday in a hands-on and meaningful way. The aim was to give them a physical reminder of the Easter story — something they could build, reflect on, and return to each week. St Saviour’s Easter Baptism Service
It was such a joyful and special time celebrating Easter at St Saviour’s, rejoicing in the risen Jesus and joining with heaven as they celebrated seven baptisms and one reaffirmation of baptismal vows. The church witnessed three children, four young people, and one adult take this powerful step of faith, sharing how encountering Jesus has changed their lives and filled them with hope. St Mary’s East Leake Good Friday Walk
Every Easter, people from across the East Leake Benefice join together for the Good Friday Walk: an all day ramble through the South Notts countryside, visiting each of our village churches to worship, pray and tell the story of the Cross of Christ. This year saw around 100 people joined in for at least part of the day, with around 20 walkers (and 3 dogs!) completing the entire route. A service on the 15th May 2025 to rededicate the Bench ‘HOPE’
Two years ago, Southwell Minster were fortunate to be blessed with a bench donated by the Cathedral and Diocese that sits in the Palace gardens. From the bench you can see right across the gardens which are stunning especially when in bloom. The bench was dedicated and blessed to those who have experienced or are experiencing trauma and was somewhere it was hoped people may find solace.
