Head of Service: Spiritual and Pastoral Care Service, NUH NHS Trust

Full time – 37.5 hours per week (Contribute to 24/7 on call rota) / Band 8a £53,755 – £60,504 pa / Permanent

The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are actively seeking a Head of Service for our Spiritual & Pastoral Care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a professional and high-quality Spiritual and Pastoral Care service to patients, their loved ones and Trust staff, addressing and fulfilling their diverse spiritual needs.

The successful candidate will manage the team, deploying Chaplains and team members to ensure a suitable level of service. Utilising specialist knowledge and pastoral skills, they will guide and shape the strategic direction for the Spiritual and Pastoral Care Team. They will ensure the provision of staff development opportunities for Chaplains and department members, to enable provision of the most effective Spiritual and Pastoral Care service. Additionally, they will actively participate in care delivery, including on-call responsibilities. The Head of Service will serve as an exemplary role model for all staff, demonstrating a track record of Chaplaincy within healthcare and maintaining good standing within their faith community or belief group.
