We’re looking for a new Head of Vocations (DDO) — an enhanced senior role to provide strategic oversight for the development of vocations and leadership across the Diocese. Creativity and innovation will be paired with clarity and high levels of expectation, as the successful applicant works across existing diocesan programmes as well as establishing new pathways and approaches for discernment, training and formation.
What you’ll do:
Lead the strategic development of vocations and leadership across the Diocese for both lay and ordained leaders.
As DDO you’ll oversee the discernment process for ordained ministry and support candidates at every stage.
Direct key initiatives, including the Younger Leadership College and Ready to Serve.
Shape and deliver our innovative IME2 curacy programme, preparing leaders for mission and ministry
Inspire a culture of discipleship, formation, and vocational growth across traditions.
Lead & develop a wider vocations team capacity, including ADDOs, vocational accompaniers and further resource as required
What we’re looking for:
An ordained Anglican priest, with a clear understanding of and passion for shared ministry.
A respected leader with experience across varied Church of England traditions.
Skills and gifting that glean and share best practice across different churches and contexts
A proven track record in raising vocations, especially among younger leaders.
Ability to design and deliver high quality vocational and ministerial training events and courses
Success in building and leading teams
