The Church of England has an ambition to become Net-Zero carbon by 2030 and has developed a roadmap with clear milestones for pursuing this goal. As a result of funding already secured from the national Church of England, we are looking for an Officer to help the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham meet our commitments to NZC.

We have portfolio of different buildings and contexts across the Diocese, from ancient churches to modern church halls and churches of newer construction, we have churchyards both rural and urban and we have 73 church schools, this variety presents challenges in implementing practical and individualised NZC solutions.

We already have a NZC Commitment Action Plan agreed and you will work with all stakeholders to develop this into a detailed Project Plan with achievable targets and aligned resources.  You will work with individual parishes and schools to encourage them to make commitments to NZC and helping them with their action plans.

You will report regularly to our governance bodies on progress on our action plan, including carbon reductions and savings achieved.

This is a new post for us and we are looking for someone with the knowledge and understanding of strategies and interventions which can help us on our NZC journey, who can inspire commitment, who can work well with all stakeholders with influencing and persuasion skills and who can work independently to achieve key outcomes.
