Priest in Charge, St Paul’s Carlton and Lead Mission Enabler for Carlton and Colwick Group

Ministerial Vacancies

Working for us as a member of clergy in one of our rural, urban, or inner city parishes will be as varied and interesting as the people of Nottinghamshire you serve. The diocese is based in the heart of the East Midlands, close to the bustling city of Nottingham, and with easy access to London by train with good transport links up, down and across the country. You can be assured of regular pastoral and spiritual support from our Discipleship and Ministry Team, ensuring that your development needs are met in your Ministerial Development Review, with opportunities for peer support and personal growth.

We are seeking a new leader to progress our exciting and ambitious vision for ministry in Carlton and Colwick, designed to grow disciples with compassion courage and confidence built on our seven areas of focus.

Carlton and Colwick are suburban areas of the city of Nottingham. Three parishes serve a significant population (approx. 20,000). While there is faithful and hopeful ministry in the parishes, church attendance is low, and yet the opportunity to reach new people with the love of Jesus is evident.

St Paul’s is well-placed to become a resourcing church with new leadership and a new team working to effect a step-change in style, engagement with the community and in giving to make this happen.

Our aim is to grow the church at St. Paul’s to be a resourcing church, reaching out to younger people and wider into our community. In time, as a resourcing church, our vision is to resource other churches and communities in the local area. The new priest in charge will be key to this plan – beginning with St. Paul’s Carlton as priest in charge and in time developing the role of Lead Mission Enabler for the wider group.

If you have a vision for, commitment to and experience of evangelism and church growth across all ages, alongside strong strategic leadership, we would love to hear from you.
