Priest in Charge (Time Limited / House for Duty), St Mary’s Plumtree

Ministerial Vacancies

Working for us as a member of clergy in one of our rural, urban, or inner city parishes will be as varied and interesting as the people of Nottinghamshire you serve. The diocese is based in the heart of the East Midlands, close to the bustling city of Nottingham, and with easy access to London by train with good transport links up, down and across the country. You can be assured of regular pastoral and spiritual support from our Discipleship and Ministry Team, ensuring that your development needs are met in your Ministerial Development Review, with opportunities for peer support and personal growth.

Date:

Would you like to lead a church that longs to grow numerically and spiritually? Would you like to bring all of your experience to release and mobilise the ministry of talented and dedicated lay members of the church? Would you like to live in a beautiful and well-cared for village where the parish church is committed to the flourishing of the wider community?

If so, you could be our next Priest in charge.

Contribute to existing connections with schools in the parish

Oversee the development of services to complement the existing eucharistic worship

Oversee the development and implementation of our Growing Disciples Plan.

Proven ability to grow the church, both numerically and spiritually.

Ability to preach and teach and to lead others.

Ability to discern, delegate and deploy the gifts of others. Experience of identifying, training, developing and supervising lay leaders.

Enjoyment of, and support for, choral and eucharistic tradition.

Someone who enjoys and engages with a wide range of ages, including children and young people.

As a house for duty post we are not expecting you to do everything, but we do want to be led and guided in the next stage of our journey. This is a time-limited post for three years but could be extended.
