Working for us as a member of clergy in one of our rural, urban, or inner city parishes will be as varied and interesting as the people of Nottinghamshire you serve. The diocese is based in the heart of the East Midlands, close to the bustling city of Nottingham, and with easy access to London by train with good transport links up, down and across the country. You can be assured of regular pastoral and spiritual support from our Discipleship and Ministry Team, ensuring that your development needs are met in your Ministerial Development Review, with opportunities for peer support and personal growth.

Introduction
We are looking for a new vicar to lead a vibrant, supportive and growing church community. As a resourcing church, we are totally committed and determined to support the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham by embracing its ‘Growing Disciples – Vision 2030’ initiative. These are exciting times for church leaders to pioneer the Diocesan seven areas of focus for mission and ministry.
Our Parish Profile outlines in more detail our ideas for implementing this plan of action over the next 5+ years, but we need an exemplary leader to make it all happen.
Is God speaking to you to consider being that person?
Geographical context
Woodthorpe is a suburban area, located approximately three miles north of the City of Nottingham. The locality is primarily middle-class. Transport links to other areas both urban and rural are very good, with a wide variety of local amenities and essential services on the doorstep, e.g. shops, good schools, hospitals, parks etc. The detached vicarage with large, secluded garden is situated adjacent to the church hall garden.
Job description
We want to appoint a confident and personable vicar who will provide spiritual, strategic and pastoral leadership. The Parish Profile gives a more detailed synopsis, but the following questions will give applicants a flavour of what we are looking for:
Are you a leader with excellent interpersonal skills who can build relationships across the whole spectrum of the church community, working with and developing existing teams?
Are you a visionary who looks for missional opportunities to encourage outreach, growth and spiritual development?
Are you an inspirational Bible teacher who can give others the thirst to deepen their knowledge, prayer life and love of God?
If your answers to these questions are positive, you may well have the spiritual wisdom, skills and emotional intelligence to take this established church in Woodthorpe into a new season of growth.
