20 Candidates Confirmed at All Hallows Gedling and St Peter’s Farndon
We’re thankful for two joyful confirmation services that took place recently, with 20 candidates across All Hallows Gedling and St Peter’s Farndon confirmed in the presence of their family and friends.
It was an uplifting and encouraging evening last Sunday as 12 candidates were confirmed by Bishop Paul at All Hallows Gedling. The service was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the many ways God is at work in people’s lives and to rejoice as these candidates took this next step in their journey of faith.
One of the candidates shared this encouraging testimony:
“10 years ago that changed, almost over night once I became pregnant with my first child. I felt an overwhelming pull towards god and the church. I joined a church and a friend’s bible study group, where I grew my understanding of gods word and its application to our lives and current world.
Jesus Christ the Son of God died for our sins. Learning what that truly means and getting to know Jesus, his grace, his forgiveness and feeling his love has slowly transformed me and bought me a peace that words can’t describe.
Since being baptised I feel anchored in my faith and I’ve found a place where I truly belong. Jesus loves you, wants to know you and will change your life, and I know that because he’s changed mine.”
It was another joyful evening on Sunday 20th September at St Peter’s, Farndon, where Bishop Paul confirmed eight candidates. It was a privilege to hear their stories of faith and to pray together for the Holy Spirit to fill them as they committed themselves to following Jesus.
Confirmations are an invitation for people to renew their baptism vows, receive prayer for a fresh indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and to profess their faith publicly, often with family and friends there to support.
We give thanks for all candidates and pray that they will continue to grow in faith, confidence and their relationship with Jesus as they begin this next chapter of their journey.
