30 Candidates Confirmed at St Nic’s

It was a wonderful evening of worship, prayer and testimony at St Nic’s for the Nottingham North and South Deaneries confirmation service on Monday!

There were 30 candidates from six parishes including St Mary The Virgin And All Souls Church, St Christopher’s Church, Sneinton, Churches Together in Toton, St Nic’s Nottingham, St. Mark’s Church Bestwood, and St Stephen’s with St Paul’s Hyson Green.

There was a great range of stories and backgrounds represented, including a large group from the Farsi community in Hyson Green.

Two of the candidates shared their stories, here are two highlights from their words that evening:

‘Now I feel like a free bird that has come from darkness to light, and I just want to follow Jesus Christ’

‘I met people whose kindness and joy stood out, and when I asked what made them different, they pointed to Jesus‘

Confirmations are an invitation for people to renew their baptism vows, receive prayer for a fresh indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and to profess their faith publicly, often with family and friends there to support.

Please join us in praying for all those who have been confirmed this Sunday, that their faith will grow day by day as they live and share in the living hope of Christ.
