27 Candidates Confirmed at St John’s Worksop

It was an uplifting and encouraging evening on Sunday celebrating and confirming 27 candidates from across Bassetlaw & Bawtry Deanery at a service at St John’s Worksop. Bishop Andy led the service and spoke from Mark 4:1-20 and the Parable of the Sower.

The service provided an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful stories of God at work in peoples’ lives, with candidates representing 6 different parishes.

Bishop Andy reflected, “It was a joy and privilege to be at St John’s Worksop for this service in advance of the new incumbent, Gareth Banton, being licensed on 1st December. You’re never too young or too old to follow Jesus!”

Confirmations are an invitation for people to renew their baptismal vows, receive prayer for a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit, and to profess their faith publicly, often with family and friends there to support.

Please do pray for the candidates as they continue in their journey of faith. If you would like to be confirmed or maybe explore faith for the very first time, use the button below to find a church near you.
