Easter Stories Across Our Diocese
It was such a wonderful Holy Week and Easter across our Diocese. Read below for some stories and highlights!

All Saints Rradford’s Pre-Easter in Taizé
In the week before Holy Week a group of parishioners from All Saints Church in Radford made a retreat and pilgrimage to the Community of Taizé in France. During the week they participated fully in the life of the community, praying with the brothers three times a day, receiving communion each morning, studying the Bible in groups and taking responsibility for allocated chores.

Easter at St Mary the Virgin & All Souls, Bulwell
On Good Friday, St Mary’s 87th Nottingham Guides were fundraising at Bulwell Tesco as part of the church’s Lent Appeal, raising money for new equipment. Rev Bob Stephens, Associate Priest, and members of the congregation joined the Bulwell Churches Together Walk of Witness through the town. The church’s Flower Ladies also created a stunning Garden of Repose.

St Saviour’s, Easter Baptism Service
It was such a joyful and special time celebrating Easter at St Saviour’s, rejoicing in the risen Jesus and joining with heaven as they celebrated seven baptisms and one reaffirmation of baptismal vows.

St Mary’s East Leake Good Friday Walk
Every Easter, people from across the East Leake Benefice join together for the Good Friday Walk: an all day ramble through the South Notts countryside, visiting each of our village churches to worship, pray and tell the story of the Cross of Christ.
This year saw around 100 people join us for at least part of the day, with around 20 walkers (and 3 dogs!) completing the entire route.

St Wilfrid’s Wilford Kids Church’s Journey to Easter
This year at St Wilfrid’s Kids Church, the children explored the four key events leading up to and including Easter Sunday in a hands-on and meaningful way. The aim was to give them a physical reminder of the Easter story — something they could build, reflect on, and return to each week.

St Helen, Thorney (East Trent Group)
St Helen Church in Thorney (East Trent Group) welcomed families for a special Good Friday event in its newly reordered nave. The redesigned space allowed tables for activities and easy movement, a big improvement over crafting on pews with boards!
It’s so wonderful to hear the many ways God’s Living Hope is being shared across the city, towns and villages of Nottinghamshire and beyond. Do you have an Easter Story to share? Use the link below to let us know
