Mission Associate (Priest-in-Charge), Parishes of Bilsthorpe, Eakring & the Riverside Benefice

Ministerial Vacancies

Working for us as a member of clergy in one of our rural, urban, or inner city parishes will be as varied and interesting as the people of Nottinghamshire you serve. The diocese is based in the heart of the East Midlands, close to the bustling city of Nottingham, and with easy access to London by train with good transport links up, down and across the country. You can be assured of regular pastoral and spiritual support from our Discipleship and Ministry Team, ensuring that your development needs are met in your Ministerial Development Review, with opportunities for peer support and personal growth.

A missional priest for rural churches ready to grow in faith, confidence and hope

We would be delighted to welcome a new priest to join us across these parishes, serving communities that span rural, semi-rural and post-industrial contexts, each with its own distinctive character and opportunities for mission.

Our diocesan vision is to grow disciples of Christ with Compassion, Confidence and Courage across every part of the diocese. We long to see this vision take root in our villages and communities, and we have developed an imaginative model of mission and ministry to help make that possible. Our approach to rural revitalisation brings together local missional opportunities, strategic support and prayerful leadership, focused around a shared vision and led by our Lead Mission Enablers, who are ordained priests.

We are seeking a priest who is excited by this vision and ready to play a full part in shaping the future of mission in our rural clusters. As a Mission Associate (Priest-in-Charge), you will be an integral member of the team helping to lead this work forward.

This role is based in Cluster 3, where you will work alongside two other stipendiary clergy as part of a collaborative and well-supported ministry team, sharing ideas, encouragement and a commitment to seeing local churches grow in health and confidence.

Are you passionate about seeing lives transformed and churches flourish? Can you bring collaborative leadership, creativity and faith-filled energy to a well-resourced team of lay and ordained colleagues? If you have the skills, gifts and calling to be part of this vision, we would love to hear from you. Our parishes are beautiful and welcoming places in which to live and serve, and as a diocese we are committed to working together to support the growth and health of the local church through learning communities, leadership development, training and specialist support from our diocesan team at Jubilee House.

We would be open to this role being split into part-time roles for two priests.

MISSION ASSOCIATE ROLE

If you have a heart for mission, a love of rural communities and the vision to help churches grow, we would love to hear from you.
