Summer Stories from Across the Diocese: Part 1

It has been so wonderful to see exciting summer events and celebrations taking place across parishes in the diocese, bringing together families and the community! Below are some highlights.

St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Mansfield

On Saturday 27 June, St Peter’s and St Paul’s welcomed the local community for a successful Open Day, with visitors enjoying a warm welcome despite the hot weather. Families and friends explored the beautiful church and grounds while enjoying a BBQ, bell ringing, games, music, organ demonstrations, cakes and plenty of family fun in a joyful community atmosphere.

St Stephen’s Sneinton

On Saturday 12 July, St Stephen’s Sneinton joined the annual Sneinton Festival, celebrating the creativity and diversity of the local community. This year, the church was delighted to host the starting point for the colourful parade, welcoming participants with breakfast and hot drinks before they set off. The churchyard was filled with music, creativity and community, making for a wonderful start to the festival.

St Mary’s Attenborough

Over the last two weeks we’ve had a great time celebrating together in community with our regular ‘Eat In’ Church family lunch, Summer Fest and our end of year Youth Celebration. And yes, we had a BBQ at them all!

St Saviour’s Nottingham

Several churches across the diocese also hosted football watch parties, creating welcoming spaces for friends, families and neighbours to gather and enjoy the matches together. At St Saviour’s, the vicarage was transformed into a lively watch party, bringing the community together to cheer on the action, share refreshments and enjoy an evening of fellowship.
