On 2nd Sunday of Advent, we pray for Blyth, St Mary & St Martin; St Mary & St Martin’s Church School; Ranskill, St Barnabas; Scrooby, St Wilfrid (Vacant; Area Dean: David Gough; Lay Chair: Isabelle Richards; Churchwardens: Gordon Ashworth, David Hill, Graham Robinson, David Stacey). We also pray for the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem & The Middle East.

In a special Start the Day for Advent, Bishop Paul and Sarah reflect on how to find strength and hope in God when you are feeling weary or anxious during the busy and intense days leading to Christmas. We also pray for The Diocese of Southern Nyanza – The Anglican Church of Kenya.

On the 1st Sunday of Advent, we begin a new Church Year. We give thanks for all that has been and what shall be. We pray for Disciples to Grow Wider, Younger and Deeper across our diocese. Lord God, may we, your people, who look forward to the birthday of Christ experience the joy of salvation and celebrate that feast with love and thanksgiving. We ask this through Jesus the Lord.
