Discipleship & Ministry Team Update
We are pleased to share with you some upcoming changes to the Discipleship & Ministry Team. As you may be aware, Craig Hunt and Sarah Patten have recently left their roles in the central support team at Jubilee House, Craig to be Vicar of Arnold Benefice, and Sarah to be Willesden Area Director of Ministry in the Diocese of London.
We are delighted to introduce to you three new members of the team who will be joining the diocese in the coming months:
Revd Kate Byrom to be Head of Ministerial Development & Wellbeing
Kate is currently Vicar of Ravenshead (in this diocese) is to be the new Head of Ministerial Development and Wellbeing (succeeding Sarah Patten). Kate has served in Ravenshead for a number of years, following a curacy in Skegby and Teversal, and prior to ordination worked in publishing Christian discipleship books at IVP, alongside a substantial lay ministry within the church. Kate has already been involved in a number of diocesan projects – perhaps most notably as part of the teaching team throughout the 5 years of the RealLIFE course. Kate will begin her role in mid-January.
Revd Dr Matt Prior to be Head of Vocations
Matt is to take up the post of Head of Vocations at the beginning of January (succeeding Craig Hunt). Matt is Tutor and Lecturer in Ethics at St Mellitus College. Beyond a teaching role, Matt’s responsibilities in the college have given him substantial experience of the kind of discernment and formational work (including with ordinands) which is at the heart of this role. Before St Mellitus, he worked within the diocesan team in Guildford, with a portfolio for adult discipleship and lay learning.
David Robertson to be Head of Church Growth & Planting
As previously announced, David is joining us to be the new Head of Church Growth and Planting, which is a role that has been made possible through generous funding from the national church. David has a wealth of experience in leading growing churches across a number of denominations. He comes to us most immediately from an Assemblies of God church in Scotland, where he was the Senior Pastor. David starts his role on Monday 10th November.
Please do join us in praying for Kate, Matt and David as they prepare to take up these roles and as together we continue to seek to grow disciples of Christ with compassion, confidence and courage.
