Good News Spotlight: An Inspiring Year of ‘Young Worshipper Workshops’ at St Michael’s Farnsfield
The Young Worshippers Workshop at St Michael’s Farnsfield this year has been both inspiring and encouraging, bringing together a wonderful cohort of young people from churches across the diocese. The aim of the Young Worshippers Workshop is to encourage young people in their giftings and to equip them to serve within their local churches.
Over the year and across five sessions, the group spent time getting to know each other better, eating pastries, reflecting on what it means to lead God’s people in worship and getting practical with their voices and instruments.

Each session began with pastries and a time of worship before diving into different aspects of what it means to be part of a contemporary worship team. Together, the group explored how to lead authentically, played through songs, and honed their musical skills in a supportive and faith-filled environment.
The final session focused on authentic leaders. After reflecting on this, the culmination was them leading their parents, youth leaders (and others) in a 25-minute worship set of songs we’ve looked at throughout the year.
It was a joy to see each person deepening in their understanding, growing in their giftings and being commissioned.

Grace, Youth Minister (with Contemporary Worship support) at St Michael’s Farnsfield, shared:
“It was such a joy and privilege to invest in the worshipping lives of young people from around our diocese. Our hope and prayer is that all they have learnt and grown in would go on to bless the worshipping lives of their churches.”
We are so thankful for how God is moving among our youth and young people, and we look forward with excitement to seeing how they will continue to bless their churches in worship in the months and years ahead.
