Ministerial Vacancies

Working for us as a member of clergy in one of our rural, urban, or inner city parishes will be as varied and interesting as the people of Nottinghamshire you serve. The diocese is based in the heart of the East Midlands, close to the bustling city of Nottingham, and with easy access to London by train with good transport links up, down and across the country. You can be assured of regular pastoral and spiritual support from our Discipleship and Ministry Team, ensuring that your development needs are met in your Ministerial Development Review, with opportunities for peer support and personal growth.

SEEKING GOD’S VISION FOR THE NEXT SEASON WHILE BUILDING ON STRONG FOUNDATIONS

Could God be calling you to lead us into an exciting new season of mission and ministry?

St Luke’s Gamston & Bridgford is a lively, Spirit-filled Church of England parish serving West Bridgford and Gamston through two complementary worshipping communities. God has blessed us with faithful people, committed lay leadership, a gifted staff team, healthy finances and a growing heart for children, young people and families. We believe He has laid strong foundations and is now calling us into a season of renewed vision, fresh growth and deeper discipleship.

As one of the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham’s Resource Churches, we are committed to playing our part in the diocesan vision of growing disciples with compassion, confidence and courage. We are praying for a Vicar who will help us discern God’s leading and build strategically on all He has already begun, equipping us to become a church that is growing younger, raising up leaders, deepening discipleship and sharing the hope of Jesus with increasing confidence across our communities.

Could this be you?

  • Are you a person of prayer who models dependence on God and inspires others to deepen their walk with Jesus?
  • Can you articulate a clear and compelling vision, providing strategic leadership that builds confidently on strong foundations?
  • Are you an outward-facing leader who will inspire courageous discipleship and mission, helping us share the hope of Jesus with increasing confidence?
  • Do you enjoy equipping, encouraging and releasing others into leadership, ministry and everyday mission, rather than doing everything yourself?
  • Are you passionate about helping churches grow younger by reaching and discipling children, young people and families?
  • Would you enjoy leading two complementary worshipping communities towards one shared vision, helping each flourish in its own distinctive way?

In return, you will find a warm, welcoming and expectant church family, a gifted staff team, committed lay leaders, faithful volunteers and a supportive PCC that is excited to work alongside you.

We recognise that this vision is not a task for one person alone. We are looking for a collaborative leader who will help us discover, develop and release the gifts God has placed within His people, as together we seek His purposes for the years ahead.

If this opportunity resonates with you, we would love to hear from you.

For an informal conversation, please contact the Archdeacon of Nottingham, Ven. Phil Williams (archd-nottm@southwell.anglican.org).
