Living Hope Conference 2025

The Living Hope Conference is an annual diocesan education gathering, held this year on Tuesday 4th November. These conferences aim to provide school leaders with the opportunity to pause, reflect, and be refreshed both spiritually and professionally. The theme for this year was “Hope.”

Throughout the day, delegates heard from keynote speaker Joanna Adeyinka-Burford, as well as pupils and staff from two inspiring diocesan schools, St Wilfrid’s Church of England Primary and Queen Elizabeth’s Academy.

Collective Worship and an optional Eucharist followed, led by The Potting Shed Worship Team and Revd Alison Jones, with music provided by The Rise and Shine Team from the Potting Shed Church.

Participants also took part in practical, reflective, and interactive workshops led by Steve Barnes and Nigel Frith, Diocesan Director of Education.

One delegate reflected, “The speakers were inspiring, so humble and really passionate about the importance of hope.”

Another shared, “What a wonderful day I have had learning about hope. I found the day to be both emotional and insightful.

Nigel Frith shared his thoughts on the day, saying, “I would describe this year’s conference as a spiritual experience. God was present.”

We’re so grateful for everyone who works in schools with children and young people across the diocese, as they play their part in sharing the Living Hope of Christ. Use the button below to find out more about the next ‘Living Hope Diocesan Education Conference’ coming up on 24th June 2026.
