Hope Rising: Easter 2022 Message from Bishop Andy
As the dawn breaks across Nottinghamshire, on this Good Friday Bishop Andy brings an Easter message of hope rising against the backdrop of darkness, both overseas and closer to home.
Start the Day on Good Friday with Bishop Paul and Sarah (141) – 15th April 2022
Bishop Paul and Sarah are in the beautiful Minister gardens on Good Friday morning with a special Start the Day, reflecting on how through the suffering of Christ we can find grace to help us in our time of need, and also pray for our world.
April 15th
On Good Friday, we stop and adore the sacrifice made by Jesus. Thank you, Lord. We pray for the Diocese of Kushtia – The (united) Church of Bangladesh.
April 14th
On Maundy Thursday, as we recall the events of the Last Supper, we dedicate ourselves afresh to servant ministry as we follow the example of our Servant King.We also pray for The Diocese of Kurunegala – Extra Provincial to the Archbishop of Canterbury (The Church of Ceylon).
April 13th
On Holy Wednesday, we pray for commitment to Grow Disciples Deeper. We are invited to join our bishop for the Eucharist with the Blessing of Oils and Renewal of Ministry today. Pray for our response as the anointed of God, all Christians inour Diocese. We also pray for the Diocese of Kumi – The Church of the Province of Uganda.
April 12th
On Holy Tuesday, we pray for commitment to Grow Disciples Younger. Give thanks for the Younger Leaders College. Pray too for our commitment to young people in education. We also pray for the Diocese of Kumasi – The Church of the Province of West Africa (Ghana Province).
April 11th
On Holy Monday, we pray for our commitment to Grow Disciples Wider. That through this most Holy Week, our parishes and churches reach out to those yet to hear the story of salvation. We also pray for the Diocese of Kuching – The Church of the Province of South East Asia.
April 10th
On Palm Sunday, as we commemorate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, we pray for the peace of that city and for all people of faith who see it as a spiritual home. We also pray for The Church of North India (United).
April 9th
Today, we pray for Bassetlaw Hospice (David Bean) and The Diocese of Kubwa – The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) (Abuja Province).
April 8th
Today, we pray for St Mellitus College East Midlands; Director David Emerton, The Lutheran Church in Great Britain, Bishop Tor Berger Jørgensen, and The Diocese of Krishna-Godavari – The (united) Church of South India.
