Fun, Faith and Fellowship at Church Fun Days
Over the past couple of weeks, a number of churches across the diocese have hosted community fun days, welcoming people from their parishes for a day of fun with bouncy castles, music, activities, stalls and free food. Below are some highlights!
St Ann with Emmanuel Nottingham
Members of St Ann with Emmanuel Church took part in a ‘Feel Good Festival’ organised by the Renewal Trust. It was well attended by lots of families from the area. We had a stall offering prayer, and prayer activities.

Revd Maureen shared, “We made prayer windmills and built thankful lego towers with the children, and encouraged people (of all ages) to write a name of someone as a prayer and add it to our paper chain (which got to about 40). People also wrote their prayers on flags to hang up on the line. Some people also asked directly for prayer. Altogether we reckon we connected with around 100 people, and others saw us… and hopefully got the message that Prayer is good for our Well-being!”

Holy Trinity Lenton
Last weekend, Holy Trinity Lenton hosted the annual Lenton Fun Day, and in its third year, it was the biggest one yet!

Across the day they welcomed hundreds of people from the local community onto the recreation ground and into Holy Trinity to enjoy live music, games and activities, inflatables, free food, stalls and more. The day is funded and organised by the church in collaboration with other local organisations, with over 50 volunteers serving across the day.

Freya Watson, Community Outreach Lead at Holy Trinity, shared, “At HT, our vision is to create home in the heart of Lenton, and the fun day is part of how we live this out. It was amazing to see so many people of all ages in our community come together, and to get to share the hope and hospitality of Jesus.”
The Cranmer Group
This month Cranmer Group we held our first ever ‘Church to Church Challenge’. All the local community were invited to take part in a trail around our six churches to hunt for hidden items to answer questions in each building.

There were lucky dips and sweets to find, and delicious cakes served at the Thomas Cranmer Centre in Aslockton. It was a great day out, and wonderful way to welcome new people into their local churches!

Fun days and community events are a great way of encouraging generosity in the church. For some of those attending, it might also be the very start of their journey of faith. Please join us in praying for all the families and individuals that have attended, and the churches who have organised these great events.
If your church is hosting any community events this summer, we’d love to hear about them and share your stories! Please get in touch with the Comms Team here.
