TENT Highlights: A spirit-filled evening of prayer and worship

More than 100 people from churches across the diocese gathered at Southwell Minster on Tuesday 3 November for TENT, a special evening of prayer and contemporary worship, lifting high the name of Jesus and praying for the diocese, nation and world.

The evening was led by David Robertson and Amanda Lees, with worship led by Tom Walters and Hannah Crutch. Together, those gathered came before God in sung worship, prayer and quiet reflection, seeking His presence and calling on Him to revive the generations and bring His people home.

Reflecting on the evening, Tom Walters shared: “It was really just amazing to experience the freedom of worship in the room, with sound and in quiet, ministering to one another in prayer.”

Kristine Mole, Parish Discipleship Enabler, also shared:

“What was amazing, was to stand in the Minster, singing praises to God in the space where people have been worshiping for 900 years. I felt part of something much bigger than myself.“

“One of the young adults there was given a picture which she was encouraged to share from the front. As she shared it, another young lady came to the front for prayer, with tears running down her face, saying that the picture described exactly what her last couple of months had been like, and that God had really met her through it. A burden had lifted off her and she knew that God saw her and loved her in it.”

A special moment in the evening saw people anointed with oil and commissioned to go out, carrying the hope and encouragement of the gathering into their communities.

If you missed out on TENT, but would like to gather with others from across the diocese in worship and prayer, we’d love to invite you to the next Diocesan Day of Prayer taking place at St Mary’s Arnold next Thursday 12th November at 7.30pm. You can also join in with Nottingham City Prayer, hosted this month by Holy Trinity Lenton, also on Thursday at 7am.
