A Powerful Easter Sunday at Lady Bay Church, All Hallows
‘Easter Sunday in Lady Bay felt like a taste of heaven.’
It was such a joyful service, rejoicing in the resurrection of Jesus and celebrating six baptisms. The church witnessed two children, one of our wedding couples and three young adults take this step of faith.
Below are a few highlights of their testimonies:
A 7-year old girl:
‘I want to be baptised because I want to live with God for the rest of my life – and it says in the Bible to be baptised!’
One of Lady Bay wedding couples:
“We started coming to church because we were getting married and needed a connection with the church, but after a few times of coming to Lady Bay, we really enjoyed it and we realised that we weren’t just ticking a box, we wanted to be here as well. I want to walk with Jesus the rest of my life, I know Jesus is the way and he knows me by name.”
A 27- year old with Down Syndrome:
“God loves ME!
God LOVES YOU!
Everyone in church ‘GOD LOVES YOU! Yayyyyyy!“

Amelie, a student shared:
“I grew up as an atheist, but about a year ago I started feeling called to come to church, and then I heard that my dad had beaten me to it! So that wasn’t ideal… but then I had some spiritual experiences of my own when one of my close friends passed away, and I had a dream where I saw that she was with God, and then it was actually useful that my dad had started coming to church because I could go with him.
I really like history, and science, and so after I was coming to church , I started doing my own research as well, looking at the historical evidence behind Jesus, and I was hugely aware of spiritual experiences as well, and so it helped me move from heart knowledge to head knowledge about Christianity. And Jonathan gave a sermon a while ago talking about how our goal as Christians is to reflect Gods love and grace for other people around us, and I had felt so much of that here, and I am just so grateful.
I want to be baptised because I want to give my life to Jesus and to walk with him and to reflect as much of his love and grace in myself as I can.“

Twuan, Lady Bay intern also shared:
“When I started senior school I started going to a church youth group, and I met some really amazing people, including an intern called Ronaldo! They took me on a trip to a church camp and I experienced the Holy Spirit, and I had never heard so many people worshipping before, and I just fell to my knees and started crying.
I want to be baptised this morning because I have seen God do some amazing things here in this church, and so many people come to Christ, and I just want to live my whole life for Jesus.“
