Diocesan Days of Prayer
‘Prayer is where the action is!’ – John Wesley
‘Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.’ – Psalm 31:24
Living in a time of rapid change and uncertainty in our world, we are seeking to faithfully to discern the vision God has for our diocese. We believe it is foundational to prioritise prayer and thanksgiving during this process, to create space as his church to seek his face together.
We have designated the second Thursday of every month a special diocesan day of worship and prayer and look forward to our next day of prayer. These days of prayer are led by the bishops, archdeacons and local church leaders gathering in different locations across the diocese and throughout the day, culminating in Southwell for Evensong in Southwell Minster at 5.30pm and contemporary worship in the State Chamber at 7.45pm.
You are very welcome to come along to any of the prayer gatherings. We hope that some might wish to come as a church group or as a leadership team, using this as an opportunity to receive, to be encouraged and to be blessed by time together with God.
The details for the next Diocesan Day of Prayer are to be confirmed.
