Diocesan Governance Review
As some of you are aware, we commissioned an external review of diocesan governance towards the end of 2024. This review recommended several changes to our internal administration, including to increase the level of support for the Archdeacons’ Team and create a dedicated part time role to cover off aspects of governance that are currently spread between several roles. Bishop’s Council, as the Trustee Body of SNDBF, accepted the recommendations of the review in full, including an increase in the overall central diocesan headcount by one full time equivalent, primarily to ensure that our Archdeacons’ Team is more appropriately resourced to enhance support for our parishes and clergy.
The implementation of the recommendations of the review has required to a wider review of central administrative resources and the configuration of roles. Regrettably, this had led to a small number of roles being placed at risk of redundancy. We recognise the impact this has on those affected and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
We are in the process of advertising several administrative roles as part of these changes, and we are keen to encourage applications from suitable candidates.
