Good Friday Celebrations at St Helen, Thorney (East Trent Group)

St Helen Church in Thorney (East Trent Group) welcomed families for a special Good Friday event in its newly reordered nave. The redesigned space allowed tables for activities and easy movement, a big improvement over crafting on pews with boards!

Around 20 children, accompanied by mums and grandmas, took part in an interactive retelling of the Entry into Jerusalem and the Last Supper, bringing the Easter story to life. The group sang “We have a king who rode on a donkey,” made flower arrangements, Easter cards, and nest cakes, and enjoyed Hot Cross buns together.

The day concluded with a prayer, and children left with their creations and an Easter book, carrying the message of the Gospel home with them.
