Good News Spotlight: Around 100 children and 30 adults attend St Andrew’s Langar Living Waters Retreat Day

St Andrew’s, Langar, in the parish of Wiverton in the Vale, held its Living Waters retreat day in April.

Around 30 adults from across the parish gathered at St Andrew’s for the Living Waters retreat day, enjoying a memorable and Spirit-filled time together.

A ‘river’ of Living Water flowed through the church, stretching from the font to the altar table. Along its banks were prayer stations exploring themes including the miraculous catch of fish and becoming fishers of men, a pebble beach, water into wine, the Samaritan woman at the well, calming the storm, and WaterAid and global water issues. There were also origami boats and sand labyrinths. Songs were sung, prayers were offered, and fellowship was shared.

Jane Travis, Parish Administrator, Wiverton in the Vale, shared:

“Having reflected at the prayer stations people left feeling that thirsty souls had been refreshed, our love of God renewed, and that we all had reconnected with God and each other. “

The following day, more than 100 children from Langar Primary School, along with staff, enjoyed their own Living Waters experience in church. The children engaged enthusiastically in singing, praying and acting out the storm, and left with a fishing net full of prayers to take back and display at school.
