Good News Spotlight: Community donations & grants make new waterless toilet a reality for All Saints Barnby

Community generosity and grants from the Garfield Weston Foundation and the FCC Communities Foundation made the installation of a new waterless toilet possible at All Saints’, Barnby in the Willows.

The fundraising journey for a new Woo-Woo waterless toilet started five years ago with a 20-mile sponsored walk to each of the eight churches around Barnby. These efforts where then aided by fundraising concerts from local a cappella choirs, continued comunity donations and the grants that were received.

One waterless toilet will make a big difference for All Saints, allowing the church to extend an even greater welcome to its regular members and guests for a wide range of events, including weddings, funerals, concerts and more.

The church would like to extend its thanks to the members of the DAC who supported the work, and to everyone who donated or aided in the fundraising efforts.

It is also not the only project that has been completed through generous giving and funding; it follows on from local donations and a grant from the National Historic Churches Trust that made it possible to upgrade the building’s electrical wiring to meet current standards and improve safety.

If you’re looking for a tranquil place to enjoy the Nottinghamshire countryside in the summer months, why not head out to Barnby for a picnic or a walk in the beautiful local countryside?
