Good News Spotlight: National Teaching Awards Win
We are delighted to share that Ian Snelling, Headteacher of St Andrew’s CofE Primary and Nursery School, has been recognised as a Bronze winner in the Pearson National Teaching Awards, receiving the Headteacher of the Year in a Primary School award.
Organised by The Teaching Awards Trust, the Pearson National Teaching Awards celebrate the exceptional dedication and impact of educators working in schools and early years settings across the UK. Know more about the 2026 Pearson National Teaching Awards winners here.

Ian was nominated by the governing body of St Andrew’s CofE Primary and Nursery School, who wanted to recognise and celebrate his outstanding leadership. As they reflected, headteachers spend so much of their time encouraging, supporting and affirming others, and they felt it was only right that Ian should receive the same recognition for the difference he has made to his school community.

We celebrate Ian for his outstanding work with the children and young people at St Andrew’s CofE Primary and Nursery School, and pray for continued inspiration, wisdom and commitment for all those involved in education across our diocese.
