Good News Spotlight: Vicar at St Mary’s Bulwell receives Governor’s Award

We are always grateful for how God is working across our diocese and we love to share stories of His goodness.

This week we heard that Fr Andrew Fisher, Vicar at St Mary the Virgin and All Souls Bulwell and a Diocesan Foundation Governor at Bulwell St Mary’s Church of England Primary School, was given a Governor’s Award at a Transform Trust celebration for his impact and hard work as a governor.

Transform Trust are an innovative Multi Academy Trust of 25 schools, and they recently held a special celebration recognising pupils from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Pupils were honoured for embodying the Trust’s core values, Respect, Kindness, Equity, and Creativity. along with a special ‘Superhero’ award.

St Mary’s Bulwell has excellent links with the schools and academy in the parish, including Cantrell Primary School and Bulwell St Mary’s Church of England Primary, both of which are members of Transform Trust.

Fr Andrew said, “Thank you for this award – it’s a privilege and pleasure to be a Governor at Bulwell St Mary’s School.  The pupils, parents, staff and fellow Governors are all brilliant, and they all work so hard making Bulwell St Mary’s the awesome place that it is.”

We’re so encouraged to hear of Fr Andrew’s commitment and dedication to service the local school, particularly as we continue seeking to reach younger across the diocese.
