LLM Final Retreat Weekend at Launde Abbey

Last weekend, our 12 training Licensed Lay Ministers (LLMs) travelled to the beautiful Launde Abbey for their final retreat, marking the end of two years of training and preparing them for their licensing this September.

The retreat was a space to reflect and celebrate all that God has been doing throughout their journey. Together they shared in worship and prayer, deepened friendships, and received teaching on what it means to lead like Jesus.

It was such a refreshing time and an opportunity to get to know each other, share in worship and prayer, and receive teaching on leading like Jesus.

The group was accompanied by Revd Angelika Bochetti (School of Discipleship Lead) and Revd Maureen Collins (LLM Programme Chaplain). Revd Kate Byrom (Head of Ministerial Development & Wellbeing) led sessions exploring the image of the vine, encouraging the group to remain rooted in Christ, connected to one another, fruitful in ministry, and to take time to celebrate God’s faithfulness.

Reflecting on the retreat, Maureen shared:

“It is a wonderful group of people who will enhance our churches with their ministries. They shared how much they have grown personally and developed in their faith over the two years of training.”

We are so thankful for the compassion, confidence and courage shown by each of these training Licensed Lay Ministers as they continue to follow God’s call on their lives.
