Jubilee House Open Day – 18th November 2023

On Saturday 18 November 2023, we are holding an Open Day between 11am and 3:30pm to celebrate the first ten years of Jubilee House serving the Diocese. Please do come along and meet some of the team – each department will have staff members available throughout the day to answer queries and provide information about how we support parishes. 

We have a visiting school choir singing at 11am, with refreshments available throughout the day, and worship to round off the day at 3pm. If you need assistance to aid your visit, please contact Sharon at Reception (reception@southwell.anglican.org or tel. 01636 814331).

Jubilee House celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, having opened as the diocesan office in July 2013. We look back over the last ten years with gratitude for how God has used Jubilee House to serve the Diocese in supporting parishes Growing Disciples together. Whether parishes need support with discipleship teaching, equipping for mission and ministry, engaging in social action as part of whole life discipleship, safeguarding, ministry with children and young people, faculty applications, finance queries, giving and funding, property or HR issues, the Jubilee House team is on hand to serve across the Diocese.

Yet Jubilee House is more than a building, it’s a collaborative working team seeking to offer support and advice across the diverse contexts of our diocese. It takes its name from the year of Jubilee, or the ‘Lord’s Favour’, referenced in Isaiah 61. This passage of scripture (please see below) was the brief given to the artists who designed the beautiful stained glass in the Jubilee House Chapel and the various pieces that embellish the exterior of our eco-friendly building. 

Any central operational team can appear remote from those whom it serves, especially when the Diocese covers such a large geographical area. If you are a churchwarden, PCC member, a licensed minister, or member of a congregation and have ever wondered exactly what happens at Jubilee House, why not come along to meet the team face to face, and to see the building.
